How to wear a tie is easy and easy to learn, but maybe you are starting to be interested in trying different techniques or styles to wear a tie. Because, if you can look different, of course you will feel more confident and excited to move. This time the HowToTieATie will discuss how to wear a tie that is unique and very different!
How to use a unique and cool tie
Tie is one of the main elements in the code of ethics for dressing for real men. Starting from the demands to appear full-dressed at formal events such as parties, gala or exhibitions to daily activities at work. Aside from the standard tie, you also know about the bow tie that has recently been hit again.
For those of you who are just starting to do your daily dress with a tie, maybe you can follow the tips on how to use this easy and neat tie first. The steps to wearing a tie on tips are basic to intermediate difficulty, while for tips this time it will be a little more difficult but the end result is certainly more unique and different.
Here are four ways to tie a tie that is unique and different from the style of wearing a tie in general:
1. How to use a unique tie by Eldredge Knot.
This unique tie-binding technique known as Eldredge knot is one of the ways to tie a tie that is most against the flow, complicated but very interesting. Eldredge Knot consists of 15 separate steps that must be done carefully.
how to tie a unique eldredge tie |
This unique method of installing ties was developed by Jeffrey Eldredge in 2007 and has become famous on the internet since then. The most striking difference from the Eldredge node is that the tie tie steps used are the opposite of the majority of other ways of wearing a tie. When tying a tie with Eldredge's knot, the part of the tie tongue that moves is not the big one, but the small one, and at the end of the steps the small tongue tie tip is tucked behind the collar of the shirt.
The Eldredge tie knot is very satisfying, the volume of the knot is thicker (thicker than Windsor) and the knot shape is like the folds of stunning fish tail scales. It's just that, Eldredge really needs a patient who is patient and painstaking, not suitable for people who are in a hurry.
- Start with the big tie end on the left, and the small one on the right. The maximum tip of the tie tongue is parallel to the belt position. The next step is to move only the small tie end (the big end of the tie becomes just the shaft).
- Lift the small end of the tie across the wide end of the tie to the left.
- Insert the back of the wide tie tongue to the right.
- Lift to the center.
- Enter into the loop, drag it towards the bottom left.
- Cross it to the right then put it behind the loop, pull up.
- Drag to the bottom left, then cross behind the wide tie tongue, to the right. Leave this node in a loop (not tightened).
- Pull the tie end across the top, into the loop.
- Pull upwards and tighten, noting that the knot shape is maintained.
- Insert into the neck circumference from the top and pull down.
- Insert into the neck circumference (crossing to the right), pull down, let it be a loop.
- Pull crossed into the loop earlier.
- Pull and tighten, making sure the knot shape is like the picture.
- Slip the rest of the tie ends into the shirt collar (behind the tie)
- Finish.
2. How to use a unique tie by Van Wijk
This technique of tying a Van Wijk-style tie is known as a tie knot that produces a distinctive 'tall' effect. How to use this unique tie was introduced by designer Lisa van Wijk by modifying the Prince Albert knot. The desired impression from the Van Wijk knot is to give the illusion of a 'tall' and thin appearance for its users with a long and not fat effect like how to tie a tie that is commonly used by many people.
Following are the steps to tie a tie with the Van Wijk knot:
- Start with the wide end of the tie tongue on the right and the small end on the left. The short tip of the tie tongue should be around the navel (it can vary depending on the length and thickness of the tie used). The next step is to move the tip of the wide tie tongue (the small end as a shaft).
- Lift the tip of the large tie tongue across the small tie bar. Insert in the (behind) small tie tongue (shaft)
- Cross the knot to the left.
- Enter in the direction of crossing to the right.
- Cross again to the left.
- Once again enter in the direction of crossing to the right.
- Cross again to the left.
- Insert from the bottom of the neck knot, pulling upwards.
- Enter into three layers of loops that have been made.
- Tighten the knot carefully by gently pulling the wide tie tongue.
- Slide the position of the vertices in layers so that the first and second layers are seen lined up below the third layer.
3. How to use a unique tie by Trinity Knot
Trinity knots are not much different from Eldredge knots, both of which are ways to wear ties that were recently discovered. This Trinity style tie tie is at a glance similar to the iconic Celtic triangle. How to tie the Trinity tie knot also uses a technique similar to Eldredge, where the active tie tongue is a small tie tongue, while the broad tie tongue is the axis. The final Trinity Knot will form a knot that is slightly rounded and slightly thicker than Windsor. His eccentric appearance will amaze anyone who looks at him.
Following are the steps to tie a tie with the Trinity node:
- Start with the large end of the tie to the left and the small end of the tie to the right. The tip of the large tie ties maximally aligned with the belt position. The next step is to move the small end of the tie (the big tie ends so the shaft alone).
- Outline the small tie to the left (position above, stretching a wide tie tongue).
- Insert into the neck circle and pull upwards.
- Pull down the bottom left.
- Cross the back of the wide tie to the right.
- Pull up the middle, toward the neck circumference.
- Insert into the neck circle, pull down the bottom left.
- Cross the outer thread of the large tie to the right, then enter the neck circumference from the bottom of the knot (do not tighten it, let it form the loop).
- Insert into the previous loop, DO NOT tighten, keep it loose.
- Pull the tip of the tiny tie to the bottom then cross the back of the wide tie to the right,
- Drag the cross over the top, insert it into the other loop (see picture).
- Pull and tighten the node and put the remaining tip of the little tie into the collar of the shirt.
- Congratulations, now you can become the center of attention!
4. How to use a unique tie by Murrell
The technique of binding this unique tie was popularized by Brent Murrell in 1995, Murrell's discovery is actually a reversal of the way to tie a classic Windsor tie. This style of binding on the Murrell-style tie produces a unique final shape, where a small tie tongue is in front of a large tie tongue, giving it a symmetrical, layered impression. The results of the vertices are triangular in shape which is symmetrical and quite wide.
Following are the steps to tie Murrell-style tie:
1. Start with the large end of the tie to the left and the small end of the tie to the right. The tip of the large tie ties maximally aligned with the belt position. The next step is to move the small end of the tie (the big tie ends so the shaft alone).
2. Lift the small end over a large end to the left.
3. Insert to the neck circle from the bottom and pull upwards.
4. Pull in the lower left.
5. Rotate from the back of the large tie to the right.
6. Pull up, toward the neck circumference.
7. Insert into the neck circle, pull to the bottom right.
8. Cross the left.
9. Pull up, insert into the neck circumference from the bottom, do not tighten it to be a loop.
10. Insert into the previous loop.
11. Stack the nodes by pulling the small tie ties down, adjusting the node position.
How? Maybe after trying a number of ways to wear a tie above you will find it difficult and hassle, but as from the beginning we discussed, these are some of the unique and uncommon tie-binding styles that can make you look different and attractive. For unusual results, more effort than usual is needed. Good luck.
